Hi Mike,

The annotations are simply stored in a tag, and does not change the compression.

The problem you are seeing is that Imaging for Windows uses the non-revised JPG spec and is not compatible with Envision. Envison uses libtiff, www.libtiff.org or tiff support and it uses the revised jpg tiff format. There is a note of that on the libtiff.org web site.
