Subject: Size of Tiff file too large

I move pages from a multi-page tiff file (selectively) from
a Tiff file to another tiff file using a memory stream.

The resultant file is 5 times bigger than the original. How could this be when I have fewer pages?

Attached is a snippet of code I use.

ImageScrollBox->LoadFromFile(FileName, page); //Open a tiff file

......

if (OCRLineCount->Caption == "New Document")
{ Label4->Caption="Saving document";
if (ms == NULL || page == 1) return;
AnsiString filename = GetNextFilename();
if (FileExists(filename)) DeleteFile(filename);
//-----------------------------------------------save to Tiff file
ms->SaveToFile(filename);
PostNewFilename(filename);
delete ms;
ms = NULL;
}
else
{//----------------------------this is where we save tif to stream
if (ms == NULL)
{ ms = new TMemoryStream();
ImageScrollBox->SaveToStream(ms,"tif");
}
else
ImageScrollBox->AppendToStream(ms,"tif");
}

Thanks in advance
doug
