Subject: Large TIF - Out of Resources

I am using the evaluation version of the Envision Library and I get a message "Out of Resources" when I try to load a large TIF.

For example, I have a 1-bit TIF that is 175398 x 70272 (pixels). I think that comes out to about 12G pixels, which would be over a 1 GB of memory. This is a typical file I need to deal with, and they are sometimes even larger.

I assume this is because there is a requirement that a contiguous block of memory must be allocated to handle the image (or something like that)? Does anyone know if the non-evaluation version has this same limitation?

In the end, I need to do two things:
1) Preview the image to the user. This could be a very low-resolution image, so it could be sampled to make smaller.
2) Need to be able to determine the value at each location.

Right now it appears that I can't do either since I can't load the file.

Any ideas?
