Libtif does not have direct support for user tags, but an add-on framework is available.

I don't plan to add custom tags other than string tags in the initial release of version 2 of Envison. If you want to get a head start, look at the source files xtif_dir.c, xtiffiop.h, EnCLib.SetTiffTagValues.
