I have tested the barcode recognition package and in addition to Code39 Nick programmed support for Codabar and Interleaved 2 of 5. All work quite well. But you must be aware of the fact that the barcodes should be large enough, especially if they are scanned. Even more if they are printed on labels that are not always placed correctly on the forms to be scanned. Sometimes it will be necessary to scan the forms at 300dpi rather than 200dpi only. The problem for the software is to distinguish large and small bars. Just before I forget: bercode recognition works only with black and white images (1Bit).
