Dear Terry,

Envision will work well in that situation. You can use a TTiffGraphic object without any visual interaction. It has a LoadFromStream method to load directory from memory (ie, TMemoryStream).

The trial version has DCU's for Delphi 3,4, and 5. There is an add-on for Delphi 6.
