It is in order to get the original size of scanned image.

For example if an 8.5 x 11 inch Photo was scanned in at 300 DPI the resulting image width and height will be 2550 x 3300 pixels.

you can calculate the original scanned Image was 2500/300 inches width by 3300/300 inches height.

You can get the DPI in use
ScanInfo.Graphic.XDotsPerInch
ScanInfo.Graphic.YDotsPerInch

and you cna see in the metadata of tiff file.
