Subject: What TIF is used to save?

I just checked the demo out, and am wondering what format is a color image saved when selecting TIF?

I opened a JPG image in the demo.exe file, saved as TIF. Then I tried to open in other software, and it would not open in many! eg Microsoft Windows Picture and Fax Viewer that usually opens TIF files on my system. I did get it to open in Photoshop, but not other "lesser" graphics systems.

It has to be storing TIF image files in some weird format to be so hard to recognize. Also, the file size is SMALLER than the jpg image file, yet it states the library does not support LZW compression, so if this is not being used, something has to be thrown out as jpg does indeed use compression!

What tif format is used to save, and can you adjust the jpg compression when saving using the components?
