Hi Vern,

If I recall, you are trying to read a blob field but you don't know the file format.

It seems trying to handle exceptions is difficult, because with the wrong format all sorts of memory corruption and overruns can occur.

There is no easy solution to this. I have done for the next version, the ability to detect the file format from the data. Although I cannot release right now, if you give me the formats you may potentially load, I can give you some code snippets.
