For the rubberbanding, it is actually intentional. It does not work with the centered mode. For the mmUser mode, I don't see why it would not work with centered mode, provided the custom mouse handler handles properly the centered case.

What do you mean by a persistent rubber band? You would like to have the ability to save the band and later redraw it? I'm also not quite clear on what you mean by, "clicking and dragging inside the band".

I am working on package the first beta of version 2 today. If all goes well at the end of the day it should be available.
