Subject: Apprehend 2001 for Envision Released

Adirondack Software & Graphics is pleased to announce the first release of Apprehend 2001 screen capture component for Delphi. Apprehend is a non-visual component with functions to return a bitmap of the desktop, selected area (with animated rubberbanding), the active window and selected windows or objects. Apprehend may be downloaded at <a rel=nofollow target=_blank href="http://www.software.adirondack.ny.us.">http://www.software.adirondack.ny.us.</a> There are two downloads. One is a zip file containing component source, demos and a help file. The second is a compiled screen capture application. Plenty of demos with source code is provided, some of which require only Delphi and Apprehend to compile. There are demos for SDI, MDI, TPageControl, TImage, Envision, Graphics32 and ImageEN. One advanced demo requires Expressbars by Developer Express, Rave4 by Nevrona, and ImageEN by Hyrix to compile.

Apprehend was designed with Delphi 5. No special provisions were made to install Apprehend other versions of Delphi. Apprehend will install correctly in Delphi 4 and 5, but will not install in Delphi 3. Coding Apprehend begain in about 1990 as a application which recieved limitted distribution as freeware and shareware. Apprehend was converted to a component last year and has received some testing by a number of developers.

Adirondack Software & Graphics retains the rights to the code copyright, however all source code may be freely used by all developers without charge.
