Hi Jack,

As far as I can tell, you should not need the source code to load other registered formats.

There is definitely a problem with Delphi 3. This is the comment in the source code in TImageScrollBox.LoadFromStream, which is called by LoadFromFile:

{ MB Nov 07, 1999. Under Delphi 3, when testing with Anders
Melander's TGifImage, an exception is raised, EFOpenError, unable to open file "...". With Delphi 4 and 5, this works fine. I'm not sure if this is a problem TGifImage or the VCL
itself. }
Picture.LoadFromFile(FileName);

I have not had any feedback of users using Delphi 3 and registered graphic formats not from Envision. I am testing with Delphi 3.0, not 3.02, so this may have been fixed in Delphi 3.02.

When you call ImageScrollBox.LoadFromFile('FileName.Gif') do you get an error message?

Best regards,

Michel
