Subject: Resizing an image

With the code below, I am able to resize a jpeg by converting it to a
bmp and using the DrawStretch. However, the resulting image has both
the full size and the re-sized image on it. What am I missing?

Many thanks.......

Todd

procedure TForm1.CreateNewImage(const Path2Image : ShortString);
var
jpeg1 : TJpegImage;
bitmap1 : TBitMap;
arect: TRect;
begin
BitMap1 := TBitMap.Create;
gNewThumbnail := ProgPath + 'New.jpg';
try
if SysUtils.FileExists(gNewThumbnail) then
SysUtils.DeleteFile(gNewThumbnail);
jpeg1 := TJpegImage.Create;
jpeg1.LoadFromFile(Path2Image);
jpeg1.Grayscale := False;
jpeg1.Scale := jsFullSize;
jpeg1.PixelFormat := jf24Bit;
jpeg1.CompressionQuality := 50;
jpeg1.DIBNeeded;
//jpeg1.Compress;

bitmap1.assign(jpeg1);
arect.left := 0;
arect.top := 0;
arect.right := 700;
arect.bottom := 469;

bitmap1.canvas.StretchDraw(arect, bitmap1);

jpeg1.assign(bitmap1);
jpeg1.Compress;

jpeg1.SaveToFile(gNewThumbnail);
finally
jpeg1.Free;
bitmap1.Free;
jpeg1 := nil;
end;
end;
