To be honest, couldn't give a damn. On a personal front things aren't going well so footy isn't on my mind much at the minute.
Fwiw though, Franklin gets back to the previous post I made about not watching/supporting AFL so much as just following Hawthorn. Even to the stage where the players have, for the most part, become 'commodities'. I.e buy/sell/trade/swap etc.

Don't think I've been 'in love' with a player since big Nathan "MONSTA" Thompson and he's been gone nearly a decade (bloody goes quick don't it).

Sure, I still like plenty of the blokes out there, Hodge, Lewis, Gibson, Cyril, Birchall, Davie Hale,. will miss Guerra, the Big Roughnut. But then there are players like Mitchell, champion though he is, there's just something about him that's difficult to take to. Maybe it's the massive self-determination/belief to prove himself but he just comes over as.. that bit aloof. Franklin for all his talent was/is a big bogan boofhead and though I reckon he was/is a team oriented player, his off-field boorishness well, it was just .. boorish.

Then you have the proverbial 'soldiers'. Smith, Breust, Sewell, Shiels, Stratton, Puopolo etc. They're the Wittman, Anderson, Maginness, Harford, Lekkas types that will give you a 100/150 games and then be replaced by the next round of 'draftees' like Hill, Anderson (actually got a fair bit of love for this kid, love his attack at the ball/man), Hartung, Garlett youngsters that you bring into any club each year.

So as for Lance, can't say I blame him taking the money and running. Didn't like the under-handed way he or Pickering (and I reckon Clarkson sent a none to subtle rejoinder to that effect as well by sacking Pickering as his manager) went about it (the move to Sydney). But that's modern day football. Neither you nor I may like it much but it isn't going to be changing back to what it was ever again.

So roll on 2014 and help me get my mind off of real life and bring on the deadly finishing of Gunston and the potential of O'Brien and see what plays out from there.

Thanks also for the advice on the Ford. Basically I need something reasonably big and bullet-proof for a couple of years as I need to transport my Mum about (she's not to well, 85 now) and is easy for her to get in/out of, which most 4cyl cars are just to small and uncomfortable for her.

Hope things are well with you also, btw, stumbled across your facebook page, you look good in a kilt, those legs... cheers.
