Bowling spin is about landing in the right place small errors are magnified by the slower speed, the batsman has more time to adjust the length by playing back or forward. Bad batsman have more time to make a mistake. In park lower grade cricket most batsman simply cannot play spin properly and given the extra time often make things much much worse. Spin bowling is atcually much more difficult than pace bowling, and a lot of spinners will bowl a fare share of absolute pies.

Captain of the thirds once had two very good spinners, just ran through most sides. A leggie and Left Arm othrodox. But they landed there delivers pretty darn consistently bowled very very few pies.

There is a dearth of good spinners in world cricket at the moment. England have Swann who is a darn good spinner (not great no near Warne) Australia's spinners are just average, Agar, Lyon.

Anybody can bowl rubbish off spin. But it is mostly Rubbish. As a captain I LOVE spin. A semi-rubbish spinner can be deadly at park level. Most Park batman have rubbish footwork, and will just make a bigger mistake given the time.
