Each of these finals have been like-for-like matches.

The powerful, imposing teams - WCE v Haw
The dull, disciplined teams - Freo v Syd
The fast, lively teams - Bulldogs v Crows
The unpredictable haedcase teams - Richmond v Norf

None had an obvious winner.
