It takes hundreds and thousands and often millions of years for a natural habitat to evolve and grow. Many trees live for decades and many hundreds and sometimes thousands of years. the Huon pine is a very beautiful tree, a twisted coastal moonah, they take a LONG time to grow.

It takes 6-12 months to cut them all down, mix some concrete, and knock up a couple of peice of shit townhouses, sell them yep pocket a few bucks - and call yourself a DEVELOPER
