Subject: I drove a g6

Been up in Sydney for a few days and got a g6e but no turbo (asked but rental co don't have one) and it was everything I thought it'd be. Plastic cabin, shit seats, navigation didn't work properly it had inaccurate positioning about 100-200m out which caused all sorts of problems, bluetooth dropped out a couple of times, stock standard el cheapo indicator stalk and every other button in the cabin, everything just had a cheap feel to it to be honest.

I want a high quality cabin feel, the stereo/nav unit looked like something you could buy at strathfield car audio. Where is the genuine leather, brushed aluminium, do quality woodgrain bezels not exist in fordland?

Drove ok but engine underpowered bad for my tastes although admit not everyone is concerned by that. The turbo would want to be a serious step up to compete with the senator/gts.

And you don't have to spend 240 to get a 'luxury' car if you wait 18 months they halve in value if it has factory extended warranty then you still have 3.5yrs before you need to worry about anything.

Ford are failing because they make cars that look shit and have a cheapo interior. I'd consider hsv but they give 10 mill to collingwood then sack hundreds of aussie workers. They also have interior quality issues but look ok, drive ok, and power is ok enough for me.

Japanese cars have the same issues with me as the aussie cars. I might go look at a GTR but really it's the wrong type of car i want and I suspect it will have a cheap feeling interior with a shitload of tacky jap digital screens everywhere which turns me off too.

I put some thought into other options but you know what i came up with? Porsche and Mercedes and that was about it. I want a sports saloon what are my comparible aussie alternatives?

All up Gav I know you may not believe this but I am trying to buy aussie I really am, I buy aussie with just about everything else I can, I am prepared to pay more to get aussie quality in most things. But I just think the aussie car industry does not produce a gun luxury sports saloon type car. I wish they did but unfortunately that's how it is, and BMW &Mercedes are making plenty because of it.
