I don't think they'd do that without saying so; despite the fact that many think he's a careless jerk, Billy (especially lately) is *very* open about who influences him, or even if he's directly copied off of someone/something. Take "Cherub Rock," for example. He stole some of the song from Cheap Trick's "Oh La La." Not the whole thing, but you can really notice it during the "who wants honey" part of Cherub Rock. He basically stole it and improvised. He admits it on Full Circle (a documentary) and during SP's last concert (and invites Cheap Trick's Rick Nielsen on stage to play it with the band).

Even if Oldham is writing songs for Billy, it would be specified. Guess we'll find out whenever Zwan's album comes out or when the band starts really talking again.

A note for those of you who hate Billy Corgan: Ok, you don't like his attitude, you think he's pretentious, whatever. But who cares? Billy is one of the best musicians around, and that's all that really matters... it isn't like he lives next door to you, it's not like you talk to him on a daily basis... so I don't see what the big deal is.

And the statement about Billy and Jimmy being two talented musicians is not something to laugh at. Just because you're biased doesn't mean you're right. Jimmy's a damn good drummer, very underrated (listen to his drum solo at the end of "Blue Skies Bring Tears" at a SP 10/27/00 show). Jimmy's also a great guitar player, but he doesn't take much interest in it (obviously). Billy is incredible on guitar, not to mention he's good at writing songs both musically and lyrically. Love him or hate him (that's your choice), you can't deny their talent. You don't have to like it or them, but you can't deny that there's talent there. They are excellent musicians.
