what an absolutely great show. first time i saw papa m live and it was wonderful.

i didn't record it bc no equipment + stupidly believe that the organizers had to be taping everything in order to release a comp someday soon. no photos either bc they were kicking people out who took pictures, and you can't really hide from the staff when you're sitting in the front row.

i'm surprised there wasn't more mainstream articles (w/photos) about atp. it seemed like there were reporters, photographers, and videographers swarming all over the place (especially the last night--at least three or four people video recording stereolab & sonic youth).

cat power was uneven. her finger was injured so she couldn't really play the guitar, and she got distracted easily by crowd noise (what's that? what did you say?) so most songs never were completed and just kind of ended abruptly. that said, she has a beautiful voice and it was understandable that she was very nervous (it seemed many people were). the audience was very supportive and seemed to adore her.
