And so I thought I,d go check out this Zwan stuff before I was led to believe how bad they were by reading some of your comments. To be honest, I loved it. And from what I hear of billy, I was expecting him to hog the whole stage. NOT at all. So here's my mini review. :)

First of all, these 2 shows they played tonight were 100% acoustic, completely different from their previous shows. From talking to David and Matt backstage, Billy has written over 80 songs so far...when at their shows in November, they had 35-40! So that's a crapload of music for us! :)

David, unlike the other shows where he played bass, played mostly 12 string, although he did jump behind the piano for "And So I Died of a Broken Heart". He also lends vocals for backup.

During another song, Matt Sweeney said in the mic "ladies and gentlemen, david pajo on guitar!" and david broke into a sweet sweet solo. :) Unfortunately, I didnt know what song it was.

I'm gonna get my pictures back tomorrow. I'll scan them and post them for all to see. :)

So to all you nay-sayers...here's some info you might or might not appreciate. Rumors have it that Zwan is planning of being a few different (4 or 5) bands, with different sounds. Their 1st 4 shows were under the name "True Poets of Zwan" and they played electric/punk/rock. These recent shows were under the name "The Djali Zwan", and they played acoustic. So I'm sure everyone will find something they like. I was worried David might be cast to the side and forgotten, but not at all.

So dont worry. I think David has shown us he's smart enough to see a bad thing coming, and he would have stayed away from it if he didnt like it.
