Subject: slint, smashing pumpkins, zwan... and these other guys Author: speorg [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 00:01:23 01/22/02 Tue after i got spiderland by slint, at that time i was listening to the pumpkins first album, i realized how good both bands were and realized they will always be in my top ten albums of all time. they still are. my best friend was always on the search for bands like slint and noticed that there was quite a large web of bands that have all worked together at one point. there are so many of them, and he let me listen to most of them, (hes an indie sucker)and i was very unimpressed by most of them except "the for carnation". i listened to evergreen, tortoise, june of 44, ariel m, god i cant remember the names of the rest of them, but needless to say they just werent powerful or stunning at all. as for the trekkies to whom this playground usually belongs to.. i really hope the pumpkins fans come in here and show you all that we arent imbiciles. as far as im concerened im really glad a little part of both of my favorite bands are working together. something great from the stuff ive heard so far seems to be inevitable here in the near future. yeah speorg www.mp3.com/speorg [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ]
