Subject: Pretentious and ignorant drivel

Yeah, so, I've noticed the words "pretentious" and "ignorant" being used a lot... 1) only extremely pretentious people ever call anyone pretentious (in a derogatory way) and 2) only people who are too ignorant to think of anything non-ignorant to say ever say "ignorant"... and no, I don't think that's ignorant of me to say/think.

hehe... I'm sure someone will take that seriously and flame me for it. Anyway, this is a comment on the Papa M/Smashing Pumpkins battle... Agreed that people shouldn't come on here talking about Smashing Pumpkins... but none of you Papa M peeps are being exactly kind and friendly... If I were you, I'd use the Pumpkins peeps as toys to manipulate rather than alienate. You're just breeding more Pumpkins related topics, such as this one. And yes, Billy Corgan IS a genius for the reason that he can present his art in a way which is universal yet attentive to unconscious detail... it shows the world and emotions in a new way though still bearing enough reselmblance to what they "really" are (mystery in what's seen)... this, of course, allows intellectual and emotional growth as well as self-realization thru various interpretations... it has obvious elements, but overall is far from obvious. Billy/Smashing Pumpkins also combined countless styles, eras, and ideas and shows them as one element, and that one element is often a paradox. He was also able to translate all of that into a way which causes an impassioned response in just about everyone its presented to, and therefore was presented to a lot of people. If that's not genius, then no genius in history has ever been genius.

Anyway, for a complete summary of my views on you people, read my post on the "despite all my rage..." thread.

Cheers! xoxo

PS: and yes, I'm also a Papa M fan... so don't even start that argument. =)
