Wow, Chen. You just threw an awful lot of boorish ignorance and assumptions around pretty handily. Don't you think that any true artist knows that critics may not understand their choices at the time that they are made? That tends to happen to true visionaries. I'm glad you won't listen to Pajo's music any more, because I wouldn't want to be guilty by association.

How pretentious of you to suggest that bands that become popular inevitably also become "boring" (in your second message). While it is possible, it's also possible that those bands were "boring" before they became popular. I think it more likely that you enjoy the relative obscurity of bands and that somehow makes it more special. Nothing wrong with that, but at least recognize it if that is how you feel. I believe that if you like a band's music, it shouldn't matter whether it's indie or not. I don't dislike any band just because other people like them. I don't like any band just because pop fans haven't heard of them.

While I agree that there is much more diversity and creativity in Indie bands, that doesn't mean that there are not larger bands that make good music. & I think you can tell from Pajo's previous work, he is not afraid to go out on a limb. He has made choices in his career that purposefully kept him out of the mainstream limelight. And I don't think he would play in Zwan if he thought that he wouldn't have free creative reign. Pajo has a history of ground breaking musical moves and I don't think he's through. I believe he has made all of his musical choices for his own reasons and not his fans, and that (in part) is what is so endearing about him and many other great musicians. (Would you prefer that he poll his fans on future career moves and musical styles?) I think his influence will help make Zwan a better band. I for one will give them a good listen before I make up my mind. & my unsubstantiated intuition tells me that it will be good.

Why not give it a listen before you condemn it, unless you are really as shallow as you appear to be?
