hearing zwan on mp3 is much, much different than the live experience.
no, i'm not a silly little smashing pumpkins fan OR a billy corgan worshipper. i love the pumpkins, and their music will always have a piece of my heart with them, but i know that billy can be pretentious and what have you.
i went into the grand rapids first djali zwan show with a jaded, skeptical attitude. in fact, i was, and still am, more enthusiastic with the prospect of a forthcoming album with james iha, melissa auf der maur and ryan adams.
what happened? well, zwan, THE BAND, proved themselves to me. they have some great music and are brilliant live. not just corgan, but chamberlin, pajo and especially sweeney who has the best stage presence i've ever seen.
um, yeah.
