Another thing I remember - Eddie used snuff. I don't know what brand he used, whether it was Sheffield's own Wilsons of Sharrow or some other brand, but I do recall he always had a snuff box with him and he'd take a sniff every so often. He always sneezed when he used it.

He was also an avid fisherman. I remember him taking me to Graves Park or somewhere with the intention of teaching me how to fish, but I think I got bored because I don't remember much - he taught me how to cast, which was fun, but waiting for the fish to bite was more than my youthful patience could stand. I remember my mum telling me once how his maggots got out of their box in the fridge and my grandmother just about had a fit.
