This is true. Tagged ice cream, had originally two shops. One on Gleadless Road, opposite View Rd, another in a wooden hut at the corner of Daresbury Rd and Gleadless Rd, (now Newfield Green). The ice cream was made at Heeley Common Cottages (close to Cuckoo pub). Where he also kept his vans. The vans sold ice cream on Saturdays at Heeley Green and Chippenhouse Rd London Rd junction. The vans then went mobile Saturdays and Sundays. I believe Taggy was Mr Battle
