Subject: Coal mines

Some of my ancestors in late Victorian times lived in Heeley and are coal miners on the census returns. I can see from early maps there are at least 2 mines in easy travelling distance, ie walking, from Heeley. Anyone done any research on Heeley residents who were miners?
