Subject: Mini-Spike and Voodoo Gunn's Adventures in L.A., part 1


Okay, here's the first batch of Mini-Spike and Voodoo Gunn's adventures with me in Los Angeles. For those who don't know, they're two handmade dolls that have been travelling across the world from fan to fan, primarily posters from Cold Dead Seed and Sparklies.org. Mini-Spike is a converted military doll that Sock Monkey, who's in charge of their travels, made to look like Spike, and Voodoo Gunn is a copy of the voodoo doll that Gunn found when he was firing W&H employees, completely handcrafted by Sock Monkey. And the tiny Sock Butt-Monkey was also made by, you guessed it, Sock Monkey. If you want sign up to host them for a little while, join Cold Dead Seed or Sparklies and IM Sock Monkey.

Finally returning to Los Angeles, Gunn stops to visit a few of his old haunts.


Gunn: "Yeah, this is the Hyperion. We ran Angel Investigations here for three years."

Spike: "Really? Where in the building?"

Gunn: "The entire hotel."

Spike: "THE ENTIRE HOTEL?? Angel took over the whole sodding building just to run a little detective agency? Well, isn't that just typical of the Great Poof."

Sock Butt-Monkey: "Eeep!"



Spike: "You could give office space here to everyone at Wolfram and Hart who's doing work that's actually worthwhile and still not fill up the first floor."




Gunn: "Speaking of the firm, this is where they had their headquarters before everyone who worked for them were turned into mindless zombies."

Spike: "As opposed to now? Have you ever dealt with the morons in Customer Service?"



Gunn: "You think they're bad, just try getting office supplies. Never ask them for a hole punch unless you're wearing thick jeans. Ow."




The guys arrive at their L.A. Wolfram and Hart offices.

Gunn: "I'll just run in and find out what the current crisis is. And... um, there's a little something I need from office supplies."

Spike: "So that's the reason for the jeans. That's the fourth time this week, Charlie Boy. I think you're starting to enjoy that a mite too much."



Gunn: "Okay, I just checked in and here's the sitch. Seems that some buildings that were destroyed when the Sunnydale collapsed are now popping up in Los Angeles, good as new."

Spike: "Don't tell me the Hellmouth is growing back! I don't exactly fancy having to do the whole Spike Flambé thing again."

Gunn: "No, Wesley says it's just a few buildings. Part of the residual weirdness that Lindsey used to bring you back. We'll go check it out right after I stop back again at Office Supplies."

Spike: "Hey, no more hole punches for you. You're still limping from the last one."




Gunn: "Here's the first building."

Spike: "Oh, bloody hell! That's Sunnydale High School! That was right over the hellmouth. I lived in that basement, and then I died there."

Gunn: "And now it's here."

Spike: "Saved the world, you know. Ever tell you that?"

Gunn: "Once or twice."




Gunn: "And then there's this one."

Spike: "What the... bloody hell! This is the OLD high school! That got blown up and torn down years ago!"



Gunn: "I guess the Hellmouth disliked the high school so much that it regurgitated it twice, in two different forms."

Spike: "Well, can't argue with that. Told you I died there, didn't I?"

Gunn: "Once or twice."




Gunn: "What about this one?"

Spike: "Oh, balls. That's the old mansion on Crawford Street that Dru and I lived in with Angelus when he went all evil-like."

Gunn: "Looks like someone's doing some work on it."

Spike: "'Bout bloody time. Thought the whole thing was going to fall in on our noggins at any moment. Was damaged back in some quake or demon attack or plague of dust bunnies or something."




Gunn: "The other Sunnydale structures that suddenly appeared here are an old factory, a crypt, an apartment building, and this house."



Spike: "That was Buffy's house! I was living in the basement... Bugger. These are all places where I've lived at some point, aren't they?"

Gunn: "So this whole thing really is all about you?"

Spike: "Isn't everything, mate?"
