Subject: All My Boardies, Episode 2x12: Last Call

Guest Starring Gemma, Peter Wiggin, DizzyD, Phaedra, Veggieburger, Jaymzangel, Ginger Pig, and Toothy.

In her hospital bed, Wolfshrub lays still while Veggie leans over her, checking her over. She shines a torch in her eyes, holding the eyelid open, and notes that her reactions are normal. She asks Wolfshrub to sit up, and she does so, looking over at SeaBoy who is sitting in the corner of the room. Veggie lifts up Wolfshrub's gown, and puts the stethoscope on her back. She asks her to breath in, and she does. Veggie listens, then pulls away, writing something down on her chart. She tells Wolfshrub that she can lie back down, and then sits down on the bed with her. She pauses, looks over the chart, and then looks up, smiling. She tells Wolfshrub that she has a clean bill of health - obviously the coma did her good. Wolfshrub notices that Veggie calls her "Shrub", and asks what's going on. Veggie smiles again, and says that its usual for a coma patient to be disorientated when they first wake up. She gets up, and says she'll call GP down for a consultation later on. She leaves, and says thats it nice to have her back with the living. Wolfshrub smiles uneasily. When Veggie's gone, SeaBoy comes over, and hugs her. He asks if he's feeling OK, and Wolfshrub looks confused. He mentions the ritual, and he wants to know if he - as in Wolfram - is OK. Wolfshrub's eyes widen for a moment, and then she nods. She says that it's wierd - for the most part, she's Wolfram, but there's still some Shrub in her, aside from the physical aspect. SeaBoy kisses her on the forehead, and says that thats good enough for him. He turns to leave, but Wolfshrub clasps his hand. She doesn't want him to go. He says he was just going to the phone - he's sure there are a lot of people wanting to know that "Shrub" is awake. She tells him that she needs to speak to him - it's about TomSmeagol. SeaBoy looks concerned, and asks what she means. She says that before she woke up, she was kidnapped by him. SeaBoy smirks, saying that of course she did - thats how Wolfy ended up dead in the first place, remember? Wolfshrub shakes her head, she doesn't mean that. She means that before she woke up, while she was evidently in a coma - she was dreaming. But it felt... real, like... like it was actually happening. SeaBoy hugs her, and tells her everything's fine, she's OK now, she's awake. He tells her that TomSmeagol was arrested not long after the ritual, after burning down the NICU ward. Wolfshrub suddenly sits up, asking about the baby. SeaBoy looks down, and mutters that 7 babies were killed in the fire. The "John Doe" was one of them. Wolfshrub is silent for a moment, then asks if TomSmeagol's still in prison. SeaBoy nods, saying he was transferred to a unit for psychos, after he kept babbling about that prophecy. Wolfshrub squeezes his hand and asks SeaBoy to do a favour for her. He nods, saying that he'll do anything. She leans in closer to him, and whispers that she wants TomSmeagol murdered.

Over at the office complex, AngelX walks in, dazed, dried blood on her shoulder. She walks past the front desk, where Phaedra sits - she says hello, but AngelX doesn't reply, just walks into her office. Sitting down at her desk, she stares ahead at the wall. Phaedra walks in moments later, and asks her where she's been. After getting no reply, Phaedra closes the door, looking concerned. She comes over, and asks if everything's OK, then looks down at the blood. She asks AngelX where the blood came from, and then she reaches down for the phone, asking if she should call for an ambulance. AngelX reaches out and grabs her hand, saying, with a raspy voice, that its too late for an ambulance. Phaedra begins to look worried, and asks AngelX if she didn't go and kill anyone. AngelX begins to cry, putting her head in her hands. Phaedra thinks for a moment, then walks round the desk and comforts AngelX. She asks what happened, and between the tears, she replies that he's dead. Phaedra asks who's dead, and AngelX says that Simon's dead. Phaedra looks confused, and says that that can't really be much of a loss, but trails off, realising why AngelX is so upset. She carries on comforting AngelX.

Back at the hospital, Morgain and Amber are sitting in a room with Jaymzangel. Jay is telling Morgain about the course they're going to put her on, a mostly outpatient course of morphine. They'll monitor her overnight, make sure her exposure to heroin hasn't caused any irrevocable damage, and then she'll get the drugs. Amber asks how long she has to take them, and Jay says that because she was only injected once, her body hasn't yet become fully reliant on it yet. A week's worth oughtta do it. Amber smiles, and turns to Morgain, saying that this will get better. Morgain looks dour faced, unresponsive. Amber grasps her hand, trying to get her excited. She turns back to Jay, saying that she's been like this since they got her out of there. Jay nods, and says that she's been through a traumatic experience. It's only natural. Suddenly, Morgain speaks up and asks if she could speak to one of the hospital's psychiatrists. Jay replies that she'd already asked GP to come down later on. Morgain nods, and then asks if she can be tested for STDs. Amber pauses, looking confused, while Jay slowly nods. She writes something down on the chart, and then gets up, saying she'll be back in a minute. Amber asks Morgain what's going on, and Morgain begins to cry. Amber hugs her, and says that whatever it is, it will be OK. Morgain shakes her head, saying that she'll never be OK. Amber finally gets it, and asks tentatively if she was raped. Morgain nods slightly, and Amber looks pained. Jay comes back over, and says that the nurse will be here in a few minutes. She also tells Amber that there's a phone call for her at the front desk. Amber, perplexed, gets up to answer the phone. When she picks it up, she hears ABM on the other end.

Over at LB's apartment, ABM tells Amber that she'd better get back here as soon as possible. She asks why, and begrudgingly ABM says that there's some people here who want to see her - he turns, and looks into the living room, where we see Agent Wiggin standing with LB.

In Dandy's office, Stormy is quietly searching through her desk. She picks a key out of her pocket, and opens up the locked bottom drawer. She roots around, but doesn't seem to find what she's looking for. She smiles, and then hears a voice outside the door. Hurrying to lock up the drawer, she stands and races to the door. She listens, as we switch to the view outside the room. Dandy is talking on the phone to ABM, as he tells her that Amber has been arrested by the FBI. He doesn't know how it happens, and Dandy guiltily suggests that maybe Joe Camel sent somebody else the information, and asked them to send it on should he bite it. ABM concurs, and says that he'll speak to her later, he has to do something about it. Dandy hangs up the phone, and enters her office - to see Stormy leaning on her desk. Dandy closes the door, and asks what she's doing here. Stormy says that she was waiting for her, then she smiles. She asks if it felt good, handing the evidence over to the FBI, and screwing Amber. Dandy bluffs that she doesn't know what she's talking about. Stormy tells her to cut the act, and says that she saw Dandy take that package of photos and papers over to the FBI office. She brushes past Dandy, and opens the door. She winks at her, and says that she'd better hope that ABM doesn't somehow find out. Then she leans in, and pretends to lick Dandy's lips, and then walks out. Dandy watches after her, worried.

Over at the FBI office, DizzyD sits in a room, facing Toothy. Neither of them talk, just stare at each other for what seems like eternity. Eventually, DizzyD breaks the silence, saying that she's been waiting for this moment for a long time. Toothy cocks his head, and asks if she's a big fan. She smiles, and says that he's been a busy boy these past couple of months. He wonders if she even knows the half of it. She smiles, and says that they have a file on him bigger than India - she's pretty sure they have everything. Toothy smirks, and says that if they did then they wouldn't be having this conversation. He'd be on Death Row already. Toothy thinks out loud, saying that as they are sitting here, he's betting the best they have is circumstantial evidence - which means that they need his word, or another person's proof, that he was involved in any of what they believe him to be involved in. He sits back, smiling, goading DizzyD to make her next move. She sighs, and gets up and walks out. In the corridor, stand Gemma and Salty. They ask how things are going, and DizzyD say that they aren't. But they've got all the time in the world with this guy, they'll break him eventually. She says that they don't need to stick around, they've got all they need now. She thanks Salty for help, and asks if she wouldn't mind coming in one day, just to answer a few questions about her past with Toothy. Salty smiles, and says that they know where to find her. As Gemma and Salty walk to the front door, they pass Agent Wiggin, who is carting Amber off down the corridor. Salty looks alarmed, and asks whats going on. Wiggin says he can't say, as he walks off with Amber, who looks behind at Salty, a tear in her eye. Salty watches, confused.

Over in AngelX's office, she's sitting at her desk still, crying. Just then, there's a knock at the door, and she quickly wipes the tears away, beckoning the person in. Stormy comes in, closes the door, and asks if this is a bad time. AngelX sniffs, and says that it's fine. Stormy sits down, and asks if she's had a chance to reconsider about Dandy. AngelX pauses for a moment, then reiterates that she won't be doing anything for the forseeable future. Stormy nods, then says that she may have to rethink that strategy. AngelX asks why, and Stormy says that she just overheard Dandy on the phone to ABM. She doesn't quite know what Dandy meant by it, but she definetly heard her telling ABM that she's going to go public about AngelX. Stormy asks if she knows what she meant by that, and AngelX looks concerned. She suddenly gets up, and tells Stormy to wait here. She storms out of her office, and into Dandy's, slamming the door behind her. Still sitting in AngelX's office, Stormy smiles to herself.

Back at the hospital, GP sits by the side of Morgain's bed. She says that she understands how hard this is for her right now, but that she's here if she ever needs to talk. She looks at her watch, and says that the test results will be back within the hour, and she's sure everything will be fine on that front. Morgain nods slightly, and then turns to look at GP, who is now standing. She asks how you can ever get over a violation like that, and GP pauses. Eventually, she tells Morgain that she doesn't think anybody does get over it. But they learn to live with it, and move past it. Even channel the anger, the despair they feel over it into something positive - their career, or a creative outlet. Morgain nods, and GP apologises for having to leave, but she has another appointment with Shrub. Morgain lights up for a moment, asking if Shrub's awake now. GP nods, and wonders why nobody told Morgain yet. Morgain replies that she's had a lot on her mind, and the two fall into silence. GP wishes her well, and then leaves.

At the FBI office, ABM walks in through the front door. He asks to speak to Agent Wiggin, but the desk clerk says that he's unavailable at the moment. ABM says it's really urgent, it's about the Amber case. The desk clerk says she'll try him, but she can't guarantee anything. She picks up the phone, and dials a number. After a moment, she speaks into the phone, repeating that there's a visitor here for him, and it's about the Amber case. After he replies, the clerk puts the phone down, and says that Agent Wiggin will be right out. ABM walks away from the desk, pacing. When Agent Wiggin comes out, ABM heads right over to him. Wiggin expresses surprise that ABM's here, and ABM replies that he wants to know what they plan to do about Amber. He's told that with such hard evidence against her, she'll most likely be tried and sent to jail. ABM looks stressed, and says that they can't do that. Wiggin scoffs, and says that they most certainly can. Amber commited a crime, which makes her a criminal. And criminals don't go unpunished. Wiggin also brings up the shooting of Joe Camel, saying that it's likely she was behind that aswell. ABM quickly shouts back that he should ask Toothy about that one. Wiggin raises an eyebrow, asking ABM if there's something he's not telling him. ABM freezes. After a moment, he calms down, saying that there isn't anything. He's just trying to help Amber. Wiggin says that he understands that, but that there's nothing he can do now. He apologises, saying that he really has to get back to the interrogation. Wiggin walks off, leaving ABM alone. Beginning to cry, ABM sits down. Just then, his phone ring, and he sullenly pulls it out, wiping away his tears. On the other end, Stormy says that she really needs to speak to him. She asks if now's a good time, but ABM says that he's in the middle of something. He asks if it can't wait until later - Stormy accepts, saying she'll come round his place around 7. Just as she's about to hang up, ABM asks why Stormy needs to speak to him. After a moment of silence, Stormy replies that it can wait until later, and then hangs up. He's about to put his phone back in his pocket, when it rings again. He picks it up, saying that he's really busy right now, Stormy - but it's Dandy on the other end. She asks him if he's spoken to Stormy today. He tells her he has. Dandy asks what about, and ABM says he's not sure - she's coming round to his place to tell him later. Dandy urgently says that there's something he needs to know, and he should get back to the office pronto. ABM says he'll be there in ten minutes, and hangs up.

In Wolfshrub's room at the hospital, GP is counseling her on adjusting to the world again. She says that while she's been in that coma, a lot may have happened, and there's going to be a lot of new information thrown at her in a very short space of time. If she needs to talk about it, help her get through it and adjust, then GP suggests scheduling weekly sessions for at least a month. Often, coma patients find that they suffer a lot of memory problems for a good few weeks after waking up, too, and that the hospital has a program for that. During all of this, Wolfshrub is silent. Eventually, GP stops talking, and asks what else is on her mind. She just mutters that "it felt so real". GP asks what she means, and Wolfshrub says that she felt like she was living it. GP nods, and says that often, coma patients lives continue, in their dreams. It doesn't mean anything, just a natural reaction to the body being put to sleep. Wolfshrub looks up, saying that it didn't feel like a dream, it felt real. The pain, the anguish... GP cocks her head, and says that if she wants to talk about it, she's always available. Wolfshrub shakes herself out of her reverie, and says that she'll be fine. She repeats GP's words that its just a long dream. Just then, SeaBoy walks in. He sees GP, and turns to leave, apologising, saying that this is a bad time. GP gets up, saying that she was just wrapping up, actually. She tells Wolfshrub to call her if things get too much, then walks out, saying goodbye to SeaBoy. Once she's gone, Wolfshrub asks SeaBoy if he did. He sits down next to the bed, and tells Wolfshrub that he won't kill TomSmeagol. Wolfshrub defiantly asks why he won't, he knows how dangerous the man is. SeaBoy says that he won't kill, not another human. Wolfshrub spitefully says that if thats the only reason, he needn't worry - Tom's not. SeaBoy leans forward, and says that actually, its one of two reasons. She asks him what the other one is, and he looks down. He says that he called the unit where Tom was being held at - apparently, there was a break out two weeks ago. Wolfshrub's eyes widen, her face in shock.

Over at Gemma's restaurant, the door unlocks, and she, Salty and LB walk in. LB is telling them what happened with Amber, and Gemma professes her shock at Amber being able to commit one murder, let alone two. Salty, with an air of experience about her, says that its a lot easier to do it a second time. LB and Gemma look at her oddly for a moment, before she switches the lights on - the bar has been transformed. A new paint job, new chairs and tables, there's new woodwork behind the bar. Gemma looks around, breathless. Out of her office, comes the foreman. He asks her if she likes it, and Gemma says that she does. She asks how they did it so quickly, and he points behind her, to Salty. She smiles, and says that she called up the foreman, asked if his men couldn't work all through the night. The foreman comes up to her, and says that none of the new installations are in yet, and the bar is the same as before - but they've given it a new lick of paint and the panelling behind the bar has been replaced. Gemma thanks them both, and hugs Salty. She asks why they did this, and Salty smirks, saying that they're going to be having a party. Gemma asks what it's in aid of, and Salty says that they've all had a pretty rough go of it these past few weeks - it'd be nice to get everyone together and just hang, get drunk, you know. Gemma smiles, and says that that sounds perfect.

At ABM's apartment, there's a knock at the door. ABM goes to answer it, and Stormy is there, all dressed up. She asks ABM if she can come in, then walks in anyway. He looks bemused at her outfit, then closes the door, following her into the living room. He offers her a drink, but she declines. She asks if he knows why she's here. ABM says that he doesn't, and that he's pretty surprised she's even talking to him - he thought she hated him, after that whole Toothy incident. Stormy comes over to him, playing with his collar. She says that she never hated him - just the company he kept. Leaning in closer, she whispers into her ear that Dandy has secrets. ABM stands still for a moment, before grasping Stormy's wrists and pushing her away from him. He asks what she's doing, and she smiles kinkily, saying that she just wants to show him what he could have instead of that lying whore. ABM keeps her at arm's length, and asks her just to tell him what she came here to tell him. Stormy "hmphs", then goes to sit on the sofa. She asks him if he remembers Shrub's shooting. He nods, and then says he got a call from Veggie today, saying that Shrub's awake. Stormy raises an eyebrow, saying that she never got the same call. ABM shrugs, saying that its good news whether or not she was told personally. Stormy nods, saying that it is good news. She gets back on track, reminding ABM that they never found the shooter. He asks where this is going, and Stormy says that if he hasn't guessed by now, he never will. ABM looks puzzled for a second, then realises. He says Dandy's name. Stormy smiles, saying "bingo". She tells him that Shrub isn't the only person, she's shot either - what about Joe Camel? Didn't ABM ever wonder why Dandy was the first one there? ABM appears to think, and then tells Stormy that she's so full of crap. Stormy stands, asking him what he means. Out of the kitchen come AngelX and Dandy. They stand there, saying that they've been on to her since the start of the day. They know she's been working for Toothy, and they've caught her. ABM stands blocking the exit, as Stormy's face contorts into a smirk, and she ends with a classic "oops".
