Josh,

I can relate to your experience. I just moved here from the East Coast (NYC) where I was involved for the first time with a man. We were living together for almost 4 yrs. All of my other relationships had been with women. And now, since I've been here, I've been groovin' with the ladies. I understand that need for validation, completely. I, however, seem to be needing it immensely from women as well as men. I'm 32 - settling into myself. Since arriving I have avoided the Castro and what it represents. If I need male affirmation I would try and sit with them over hot chocolate and talk for a while. Take care. And thanks for your openness.
