Here is my post from the strawberry thread:

(this was regarding fruits, in general and changing the diet to fit our needs)

I just called the Atkins Center and talked to a gal about fruits. they are allowed Daily on pre-maintance (where I am) and weekly on OWL. Including strawberries.

Quoting from the yellow book, pg 224
Choose the additions which best meet your individual needs for the meal enjoyment, convience, or hunger control, whichever the case may be.
and on page 226, it lists strawberries.

Now for pg286:
What you are doing is creating your own personal diet plan, based on your demonstrated degree of metabolic resistance and your favorite foods, perhaps the very items you thought would never get on a diet. You are not on the Atkins diet; there never was an Atkins diet; you're on the "Atkins and I" diet. I contribute the principles; you contribute the personalization and execution."

(I clipped out my comments to the other women tho)

Strawberries do have natural sugars, hence carbs.
They are roughly 7 carbs per cup, once the friber is deducted. To me,,, thats not too bad for a nice sweet snack.

HTH
Terese
