Subject: Feb '06 Dog Events- Annapolis/DC/Baltimore Area

Most dogs love the snow, so for their sake, let's hope we get some. For those of us without natural fur coats, let's hope we don't, it'll just mess up the few February events.

If anyone has used both DSL and cable internet connections, please let me know how they compare. My cable has been giving me fits and I'm thinking of switching.

Sun 2/5 10am- 2pm, LAUREL, MD: Fidos For Freedom offers CGC/TDI testing and a tattoo clinic for those looking for an alternative to Superbowl madness http://www.fidosforfreedom.org/events/current-events/2006Tattoo/tattoo.php .

Fri 2/10 5- 8pm ANNAPOLIS, MD: A benefit for the Animal Resource Foundation at Paws Pet Boutique http://pawspetboutique.com/news_events.shtml will have a photographer taking photos of you and the "love-of-your-life" pet for $15 which includes a five minute photo session, a disc of the photos and a printed photo. Refreshments will be served and of course you get to browse the unique selection at the store.

Tu 2/14 6- 9pm ALEXANDRIA, VA: Barkley Square http://barkleysquarebakery.com/ is hosting a Valentine Mixer. Bring your special four-legged friend to celebrate this special holiday. They say "We will have champagne, strawberries and special dog treats! Tickets are $5.00 if you prepay at Barkley Square or order on-line. You can also purchase tickets for $7.00 at the event. We have a special offer of $9.00 for your ticket as well as a Gold Box of Truffles. Come join us on Valentine's Day!!"

Sat 2/18 & Sun 2/19, BALTIMORE, MD: Annapolis Kennel Club http://www.infodog.com/clubs/2005082301.HTM and Maryland KC host an indoor all-breed AKC dog show at the Fifth Regiment Armory. Admission is $5, doors open at 830am, judging is said to start at 1030am. Directions & map are on the link. They discourage unentered dogs from attending. This will be the last year this show is held inside at the Armory- they're going to switch to the Howard County Fairgrounds in Oct in the future.

Mon 2/20, ALEXANDRIA, VA: Really got cabin fever? Then go to the George Washington celebration http://www.washingtonbirthday.net/html/gwparade.html in dog friendly Old Town Alexandria, including a parade at 1pm.

Sat 2/25 NEWARK, DE: Wilmington Kennel Club http://www.wilmingtonkennelclub.org/ is sponsoring a health clinic with bargain priced CERF (eyes), thyroid panels done at Michigan State University (this is THE place to have them done), blood chemistries, tattoos, microchips and more.
