Alert brown eyes , hedged by long lashes , looked up at her with curiosity , as if the little colt were already planning some mischief.Flapping his tail on the ground the colt returns his mothers nuzzel.Then because he liked the thumping sound it made , he flapped it again.After all this excitement , Storm felt the need for something.He wasn't sure exactly what it was , but he knew his mother was the one who could help.To get closer to her he would have to raise himself up.He tried to unfold his long skinny legs , staring at his knoby knees.Spreading them wide , he lifted himself up.Storm wavered a bit but remained standing.Amazed at his accomplishment , he boldly tryed a step then anouther.Watching his parents for their reaction with his big brown eyes.He gingerly took anouther step; now he was underneath the mare.He nuzzeled her , first her legs , then her shoulders , then her belly.He pushed here and there , delighted finally to discover the warm , sweet milk she had waiting for him.Storm sucked noisily , flapping his fuzzy tail with excitement.He drank until his sides buldged.The colt was ready to go...
