  Melissa, it is a shame that you allowed desert pageants to come in and take over your pageant. We realize you are new to this, but of all places to ask for help that was the worst. You allowed the high desert judges to judge, what were you thinking? They hate "pageant kids" make up, hair, pageant dresses. Isn't it ironic that almost all the high desert kids that came made court. Ask a lot of the moms out there for their opinion, I've spoken to many and they are disappointed. You now have a national pageant not a "down home pageant" that only caters to their own as does the desert pageants.

  Since I was one of the four judges from the pageant I would
  like to inform you that I am not, nor have even been from the high desert. Due to my varied pageant experience I was asked to judge and considered it an honor. As 25% of the decision making team I scored each contestant without any favoritism. I do not hate "Pageant Kids", hair, make up, dresses. I have previously been involved with National level pageants (Miss Teen Califoria, Our Little Miss, etc.
  I am not, and have never been a high desert judge.
  
  I am sorry that you were unhappy with the results, but it took four judges to make the decisions.
  The only ones I catered to were ALL the children involved because they deserve the very best.
  
  To all the contestants, Parents, relatives, and guests my warmest wishes for your continued success!
