yes, it is highly possible that this book is not true. But you need to realize that throwing out the book based on your interpretation of the end times is a bit hasty. There are many spirit filled christains who do believe in pre-tribulation rapture. And in there minds they are right. I stay in the middle of this debate because I can see that both sides have valid biblical points. They say "Didn't God promise to spare us from the wrath that would come on the world?" "Didn't Jesus say he would come as a theif in the night? How is this prophecy to be fullfilled if there is a percise 7 year tribulation starting with the signing of a treat with Israel and a one world dictator who cause all to recieve his mark, heck you would be caught off gaurd, you could set your watch to the second coming if that were true." and "were waiting for Jesus and 'they're' waiting for the antichirst." So I understand both sides of the arguement, and to simply throw out this book of possible revelation when so many in the church do feel this way and there is evidence that the first century church felt this way is not good business.
Love in Christ
