To me Will's music has always seemed to be pure, raw, unadulterated expression. He is an artist that seems to have no fear of expressing himself. Speaking from an artistic standpoint, I admire the honesty expressed in his music. I draw and paint and I know from my own experience that it can be intimidating to let loose and just let it all come out. I think I relate to his music b/c of the subject matter. In this society it is almost like we as humans are'nt supposed to feel or express certain emotions(If you feel sad, take this pill to make it all better, become normal, etc). Like we should'nt speak of or express certain ideas or think in certain ways. Will seems to be a good, respectful businessman. Uncomfortable with taking more than he needs to exist and continue his lifes work.

I don't feel that his musical expression is necesarilly sad or gloomy as much as it is honest. He seems to express his day to day life through music. Some days we feel great other days we feel not so great. I know that with my artistic situation that I love to express myself but I do not want to have to answer for an expression that I feel speaks for itself. Will seems to let the listener have their own personal relationship with his music by not telling us about what each song means. Perhaps he does not even know what most of the songs are about. Or maybe it is just so obvious that an answer would patronize the listener. To me his music represents freedom. A right we all have but at times feel scared to express. His music has taught me to feel more at ease with my own expression.

There seems to be alot of "empty" music going on out there. Wills music seems full. He has a talent with a subtle use words. One phrase can carry you to his realm. His music feels like home to me. Whinin boy blues that causes me to smile. I have been to some extremely dark bottom of the barrel places in my life. Wills music has given me hope. Helped me cure myself. Oh well here goes.........I was addicted to heroin for a number of years. Injected speedballs daily (shot of heroin & cocaine). Spent every penny on dope. I went all the way to the bottom of the bottom.

I have been clean since 1999. Wills music reminds me of how I would sometimes feel in that life. No hope, tired, dreary, trying to run and hide. I feel those times were pure hell laced with pure heaven. Pure being the key word. Wills music seems to capture pure feeling and freeze it in time so that we may bask in the glow of his fire. He invites us into his home to hear his heart. This seems somewhat rare these days in music. If he were greedy it would cease to be that way. His music is one of those rare timeless beautiful expressions from the inner walls of what make up this man.

Fearless, the uncowardly lion. Though I bet if he were asked he might say that what he does is only the tip of the ice berg in concern to what he does'nt let out. Who knows ? Not I. I do know how his music makes me feel personally and that is what I have written about. I don't know how his music makes him feel personally. I have spoken a few words with him and he seemed to be kind with a hint of standoffishness. Perhaps he feels more comfortable behind his music than without that particular sheild. I hope that may be of help on some level to someone out there. Take care of yourselves and be good. If you ever feel that no one cares, please remember that I do.
