I saw Bonny Billy at the Troubador in LA. I think it was my favorite of the three shows I've seen him play so far (the others being at the Knitting Factory in LA post Get On Jolly, pre-Ease Down the Road and at the Starry Plough in Berkeley, I See a Darkness tour). The music seemed slower and heavier. Will's voice seemed a little frayed (it was the 2nd to last date i think), particulary when we was singing in a more "conversational" range, but it didn't matter at all. It was still powerful. Set list included:

careless love
every mother's son
we all, us three, will ride
merida
gulf shores
death to everyone
a king at night
i see a darkness
viva ultra
no gold digger
o let it be
jump in jump in come in come in

and other new songs or covers i wasn't familiar with, including "barcelona". does anyone know what that song is?

will loosened up at the end of the show, putting down his guitar and finishing up the set with a sade song and a madonna song. he was getting down, sining to his female backup singer. I got to say hi afterwards (he sat at the front of the stage and talked to people) and thank him for the great show.
