Melanie B also known as Scary Spice denied previous reports that she was dumped by Virgin Records. Mel B said during an interview that voluntary terminated her contract with Virgin Records(that's as a solo artist but she is still signed as a Spice Girl) for the reason that she wanted to spend more time with her daughter Pheonix Chi

the singer said that as part of the record contract with Virgin is a year worth of stay in America to do promotion for the album "Hot". Mel B was hesitant however with this terms and said she wanted to spend more time with her daughter. It was reported earlier in the news that the Spice Girl was dumped by Virgin due to poor record sales and lack of interest by the recording company, however, Mel B said that it is "far from the truth"
