Subject: Far West Top Ten

I'll probably do this periodicaly through the season; my top ten for the far west which includes, CA, OR, WA, AZ, NV, and ID. Comments & criticisms welcome!

1 Arizona
Two consecutive victories over top 5 programs then a victory over #22 Texas on the road to boot? Unbelievable! Can they maintain?
2 UCLA
Season of high expectations begins tonight in Maui
3 Stanford
Impressive victory over New Mexico in The Pit, never an easy place to play.
4 Fresno State
Big win over USC, face Wake Forrest next in the NIT.
5 Gonzaga
Illinois beat them handily in Illinois-Zags waiting for March to play their best ball
6 CAL
Bears cheated out of showdown w/St Joeseph's, take out frustration on E. Washington, 56-27
7 USC
Didn't look good in Fresno, too talented to be put lower.
8 Oregon
Creamed some lesser competion in their tourney in Eugene, average score over three games was 93-56, no team getting closer than 30.
9 Pacific
Very experienced Big West team beats Santa Clara (a team expected to challenge Gonzaga in the WCC) on the road
10 ASU
PAC 10 darkhorse needs opportunity to show their stuff. They won't get it as they have the weakest ooc schedule in the land-only 5 out of conference games and only one decent opponent in the lot-BYU. Good thing for them, they play in the PAC 10 so their RPI won't suffer too badly.

Teams on the waiting list: UC Irvine, SDSU, Nevada, USF, UNLV
