You may be right, but I tend to think the Highlanders will win a few games. They have a good shot at winning the games you mentioned, plus as the season goes on the team will improve and they could pull off and upset against Pacific, Long Beach, or CSUN. I agree with JoeG in that I think the UCR is coached fairly well.

The funny thing is I remember reading a comment by Coach Masi where he said this year's team could be significantly better than last year's team and still not have a better record due to the improved competition.

It appears to me that every team in the conference has a decent coaching staff now as opposed to years past. Even Coach Bromley appears to be turning things around for the Mustangs, much to my surprise. Hopefully, these coaching staffs can get out on the road and recruit to help raise the talent level in the Big West which will help translate into more out of conference wins in the future, which makes things better for everyone in the conference.
