Subject: Grades for week three

Subjective grades for week three performance--

Utah State--( A ) Another good week with two victories at home--moves its RPI into the teens--

UCSB--( A- ) Logs two wins, one a big one against BYU--reverses trend of prior years and is a force during the out of conference play--struggle against St Marys justifies the "-".

Cal Poly--( B ) If there is such a thing as a good loss the game against Vandy was a good loss-- Also gets a win away against a Div-I (although its Lipsomes first year in Div-I)

UCI---( B- ) Gets two wins, one against Loyola(WCC) away, which looks better after the Lions defeat Texas A&M-- Its narrow win over a Div II (plus playing them in the first place) justifies the "-".

Pacific --( B- ) Splits during the week but did play Fresno a close game and defeats a Big Sky opponent

Long Beach-( D ) Loss to Texas A&M looks worse after Loyola defeats them -- Also Ore gets beat by Portland, so that loss looks worse--

Idaho--( D ) Loss to Portland does not look as bad after it beat Oregon, but loss to Boise in the same week gets a low grade

CSF--- ( D ) Two losses to Baylor and Wyoming--expected, but by big margins not good

UCR-- ( D ) Two big losses--Defeat to Fresno expected, but defeat to Montana State on neutral court was not good --a close game against the Bruins would be great for the conference

CSUN-- ( F ) A bad week--Although the loss to San Diego State was not that bad(although a win was feasible), 35 point loss to Howard brings a non-passing grade-- A chance to bounce back this week with a big game coming up
