Subject: Pacific 103 Delta Jammers 84

From PacificTigers.com, as I am 2,300 miles from my beloved Tigers at this moment :-(

PACIFIC TOPS THE CENTURY MARK IN OPENING EXHIBITION CONTEST

STOCKTON, Calif. — Six players scored in double digits as the Pacific Tigers men’s basketball squad opened its exhibition season with a 103-84 victory over the Delta Jammers.

Pacific jumped out early on the Jammers as seniors Jono Metzger-Jones (Oakland, Calif.) and Mike Preston (Omaha, Neb.) scored a combined 10 points in the opening three minutes to build a 10-3 lead. By the twelve minute mark the Tigers would stretch that lead to 13 at 20-7. The Tigers held the lead for the remainder of the half and went in at the break up 51-41.

In the second half, it was once again Jones and Preston who got the Tigers started as Jones opened the half with his fifth three-pointer of the game. Then the Tigers went inside as Preston and senior Mike Hahn (Lincoln, Neb.) followed with six points in the paint to stretch the lead to 60-41 with 18 minutes remaining in the game. The Tigers would push their lead to as much as 27 points on two separate occasions in the half.

The Jammers, however, would make a game of it late in the second half as they mounted a 23-4 run to cut the lead to only five at 83-78 with 4:42 remaining. The Tigers answered with an 8-0 run own their own to put the game away.

Junior Demetrius Jackson (San Francisco, Calif.) led the way in his Tiger debut with 16 points, while Jones finished with 15. Also scoring in double digits were Eli Kiedrowski (Lodi, Calif.) with 13, Hahn (12), Preston (11), senior Maurice McLemore (Suisan City, Calif.) rounded out the double figure scores with 10.

The Jammers were led by Ron Selleaze and Wayman Strickland, who each finished with 20 points.

The Tigers will complete their exhibition schedule on Friday, Nov. 9 as they host Korabel, a traveling team from Ukraine, at 7 p.m. in the Alex G. Spanos Center.
