There are folks who swear by fall trimming, and some that go for spring trimming in their orchards. I really am not sure how SoCal winters affect fruit trees. Do you depend on the fruit? If it is not that big of deal, I would say go for it. The biggest concern with pruning is that the sap has slowed to the point that the tree won't heal enough before winter sets in with freezing temps. Not much chance of that, eh?

This goes as a Duh Question, it's not a Euphorbia is it? No milky sap? If not, I would guess it to be a type of Cereus, but I really suck at ID's. The copper stripping worked well for my 'Cup of Gold' until the bush started touching the wall, then they just traveled up the wall and onto the plant that way! Little stinkers! I don't seem to have much problem with them this year, with the nasty possum and all. Seems possums diets are very dificient in some things and slugs and snails form a huge part in a well rounded diet. Did I mention the little brute is coming into my house also?
