Sempervivums, and oddly, they are the same as 'Hen & Chicks'. There is a HUGE family of these. I am only now starting back into them. The level of mealies I have here usually make them look anorexic and long-term illness bad...

I don't have much temp drop here. We have never had temps lower than high 40's, nearly 50's during the day. I have seen frost more than a couple of times, but never snow, sleet, or freezing rain on the coastal level where we live. If I want to have a snowball fight I have to head inland for about 1 1/2 hours, oh, and UP also.

The realization that my residence dictates so much of what I grow gave me a shudder and prompted that sad sack post of two weeks ago.
