He pressed his index finger to her lips to quiet her, leaning forward, he smoothly replaced his finger with his lips, his kiss gentle, tender, soothing. He didn't let it last very long, for soon he leaned back, standing up, he tucked some hair that was in her face behind her ear before whispering, "Rest. I will stay here and make sure yo are alright. And I will be here and you wake."
