It's from 1981, but I don't know who the opponent is. According to my sources thoughy it's one of the following teams.

Gardner-Webb
Winston Salem State
Newberry
Lenoir-Rhyne

Which school is it?

I'm not sure, but fortunately each of those schools except Newberry has now digitized its old school yearbooks, so I think you should be able to locate photographs for at least three of them.

I'm fairly sure it's not WSSU, and Lenoir-Rhyne would be my first guess, followed by Gardner-Webb. I was doing some research on the South Atlantic Conference schools a month or so ago, but had not gotten into the 1980s.

If you can pin down a date, this site will help identify the team...

It could be Guilford College. Elon played them in week 2 of 1981 and the helmet matches up according to this site
