I happened to tape the OU vs. ORU game on this past saturday and have seen several things that have irked me all year long and I will stand by it. The team plays better (much better) without Helms. Why does it seem like the other players are terrible? Because it is Helms who wants to be the man all the damn time and just continues to jack up shot after shot. Sure he passes the ball from time to time but not as often as he should. For the record Hopes has regressed mainly because of the knee injury he suffered back in december. When Helms picked up his second foul early in the first half in the ORU game OU went on a 11-0 run. There was plenty of passing, rebounding, and movement on offense.

I am not trying to hate on Helms. He is a tremendous talent and has been a great asset to OU in terms of bring in quality players but its hard even for this positive OU fan to believe that he will be the one that leads us to win the league tourney. Hope I'm wrong but I doubt it.
