Loneliness does fill my soul, though my heart is not alone.
Past experiences echoing� The hurt does always roam.
Sometimes the pain is better than previous pain-filled hours.
Sometimes it envelopes me like the fragrance of gentle flowers.

When someone does brush my tear, the heart does so swell
And temporarily stalls that moment when my spirit dwelt in hell.
It�s simply a moment in time when moments seem so plentiful�
It�s the dreams that escape and trace moonbeams on our pillows.

What is it to me, you ask. Well, it is something that does fade
It allows us to feel pain and in tears, we�re permitted to wade.
It creates the beating rhythm in our hearts for someone else.
It allows us to live for a cause other than for our selfish selves.

And though I may feel it in my heart, loneliness resides there too.
It comes hand-in-hand with an emotion that pacifies and subdues.
I really have no definition for that heat residing in my heart.
I only know that it aches so very much when we are apart.
