The thought of your kid driving makes strong knees weak,
Though that fateful day must rudely arrive,
Such a trama might beckon a shrink to seek,
Junior roars off, blindly into a buzzing bee hive!
His knowledge barely transcended putting gas in the tank,
Oh WOE to a world so unsuspecting, so untried...
Seems like only yesterday his buns I would spank,
Though calendars said "It's time!", still, I cried!
Off he goes, tail lights fading fast in the dark,
My anguished mind sees drunks, pot-holes, and road-rage,
Is he destined for the library, or with a chick he will park?
My brain, like a book, turns page after page!!
All said and done, I live through these years,
After all, a apple doesn't fall far from the tree,
Time numbs this worrier's paranoid fears,
That young rocket, launching ahead, surely, a piece of me!!
